reflection (semester 1)

My class experience so far has been something I’m happy with. I’ve been very well organized and disciplined with fulfilling the timeline of due dates. I always try to follow the suggested progress point that is given in class, because being behind is not fun. I sometimes have struggled with coming up with a concept and knowing what I want to shoot for it. Actual assignments in Photoshop have been easier for me to complete because I find it easier to come up with an idea and create it. As for the actual quality within my photos, they range from good to just okay. Outside of class, I do enjoy capturing pictures, mostly through my Polaroid camera, but after that I’m not actively taking photos unless I’m out and about. The complexity of the assignment mostly determines how much planning I put into it. I tend to shoot the requirements especially if it’s a concept that I get stuck on. I want to experiment with different creative ideas and subjects but sometimes my schedule outside of this c

describe the image pt. 2

In the image, there's a pale relatively young girls face. Who has dirty blond hair and eyes that are a very big and prominent on her face. Zooming out there's a man and his workers continuing to construct the details on the girls face. The scale of the two main things within the picture gives the illusion that the person is photoshopped onto the girls face and not working on it. The image looks to be a contiguous image because everything seems to be captured all together and just from a farther distance on each image. I picture this piece to be something viewable from the highway/interstate. It seems to be on the side of the last building before a body of water is present. This image also seems like it's in the downtown part of a city whether it's large or not. The image strikes me as something that is part of an ad or commercial dealing with children. That's because the face is so large and her features seemed a little bit washed out. Lastly, the expression on th

describe the image

This image seems like an artistic image. Part of me feels like it is photoshopped but another part of me feels as if the face of the girl is a painting, because of the very detailed nose and features, and the person is standing on it. This image conveys the message of there's always something around you that may not be directly in your line of vision. I think the photographer had an intention of making the viewer think and find a deeper meaning to this picture. The difference in scale between the face and the man confuses the viewer on what is actually happening. The man looks as if he could be rock climbing or exploring the features of the girl, or just working on the girls face in general.
